COVID-19 inspired analysis for Preventing and Recovering from major Supply Chain and Manufacturing Disruptions through Case Studies, Research and a UK based Survey.

Ysbrydolodd COVID-19 ddadansoddiad ar gyfer Atal ac Adfer o Aflonyddwch Cadwyn Gyflenwi Mawr drwy Astudiaethau Achos, Ymchwil ac Arolwg yn y DU.

Supply chains and manufacturing are closely related and a major disruption to either affects
both. This dissertation results in a suggestion for preventing major disruptions with a focus
on recovering and the lasting changes in manufacturing from COVID-19. To achieve this,
supply chain structures and their influences are researched. The knowledge is further
expanded by analysing six case studies. Each highlights a different disruption type or
prevention tactic. Studies on the impact of COVID-19 are compared to a small scale survey
conducted in the UK. Deficiencies in supply chains and manufacturing were brought to
light through COVID-19. Technologies were reinvented and new ones created to
accommodate new working environments. The existing management and organisational
structures in companies were challenged. And the importance of supplier selection
highlighted through this global pandemic. With these results, most objectives for the
dissertation could be achieved. The impact COVID-19 had on supply chains and
manufacturing and the lasting effects will be evident in future studies.

Mae cysylltiad agos rhwng cadwyni cyflenwi a gweithgynhyrchu ac mae tarfu mawr ar y naill neu'r llall yn effeithio ar y ddau. Mae'r traethawd hir hwn yn arwain at awgrym ar gyfer atal tarfu mawr gan ganolbwyntio ar wella a'r newidiadau parhaol mewn gweithgynhyrchu o COVID-19. Er mwyn cyflawni hyn, ymchwilir i strwythurau'r gadwyn gyflenwi a'u dylanwadau. Mae’r wybodaeth yn cael ei hehangu ymhellach drwy ddadansoddi chwe astudiaeth achos. Mae pob un yn amlygu math gwahanol o aflonyddwch neu dacteg atal. Mae astudiaethau ar effaith COVID-19 yn cael eu cymharu ag arolwg ar raddfa fach a gynhaliwyd yn y DU. Daeth diffygion mewn cadwyni cyflenwi a gweithgynhyrchu i'r amlwg drwy COVID-19. Cafodd technolegau eu hail-ddyfeisio a chafodd technolegau newydd eu creu i ddarparu ar gyfer amgylcheddau gwaith newydd. Cafodd strwythurau rheoli a threfnu presennol mewn cwmnïau eu herio. Ac amlygwyd pwysigrwydd dewis cyflenwyr drwy'r pandemig byd-eang hwn. Gyda'r canlyniadau hyn, gellid cyflawni'r rhan fwyaf o'r amcanion ar gyfer y traethawd hir. Bydd yr effaith a gafodd COVID-19 ar gadwyni cyflenwi a gweithgynhyrchu a'r effeithiau parhaol yn amlwg mewn astudiaethau yn y dyfodol.
