The overall aim of the project is to design and build a small tractor with the help of an old snowblower engine. The project is a group effort divided between two people. Since the tractor has to be made and paid for by private individuals, the possibilities for construction and design are very limited, which is the biggest problem. The tractor should be possible to finish in a small workshop with conventional machines. This paper focuses only on steering, suspension and important aspects related to both. Important findings, such as the Ackermann principle, are discussed in the course of the technical text. For both the suspension and the steering, step-by-step variants are shown, evaluated and the most suitable for the requirements is chosen.
