Design and simulation of ultralight floatplane floats.
Dylunio ac efelychu fflotiau awyrennau arnofio uwchfioled.

This report presents a study on the design and optimisation of the floats of an ultralight floatplane. Recent developments on seaplanes are mainly limited to amphibious aircraft. Studies on floatplanes have therefore been neglected, leading to a stagnation of performance and the feeling that these aircraft are no longer at the cutting edge of technology as they once were.
First, the introduction defines the different terms of the subject and gives the objectives pursued during this study. The following chapter details all the information collected in the literature to answer the question.
Applying the results of this research, the design process has then been carried out and explained in Chapter 3. Different CFD simulations have been carried out on the model using the Ansys software, especially in order to determine the aerodynamic and hydrodynamic forces applied to it. The results of these simulations and their analysis and impacts on the design have been discussed in Chapter 4. The final model of the floatplane and its characteristics are also detailed.
This research was carried out through publications: books, internet documents, scientific articles, data sheets and courses attended in different modules at Glyndŵr University.

Mae'r adroddiad hwn yn cyflwyno astudiaeth ar ddylunio ac optimeiddio fflotiau awyrennau arnofio uwchfioled. Mae datblygiadau diweddar ar awyrennau môr wedi’u cyfyngu’n bennaf i awyrennau tir a môr. Felly, mae astudiaethau ar awyrennau arnofio wedi'u hesgeuluso, gan arwain at berfformiad yn marw a'r teimlad nad yw'r awyrennau hyn bellach ar flaen y gad o ran technoleg fel yr oeddent ar un adeg.

Yn gyntaf, mae'r cyflwyniad yn diffinio gwahanol dermau'r pwnc ac yn rhoi'r amcanion a ddilynir yn ystod yr astudiaeth hon. Mae'r bennod ganlynol yn manylu ar yr holl wybodaeth a gasglwyd yn y llenyddiaeth i ateb y cwestiwn. Gan gymhwyso canlyniadau'r ymchwil hon, mae'r broses ddylunio wedyn wedi'i chynnal a'i hegluro ym Mhennod 3. Mae gwahanol efelychiadau CFD wedi'u cynnal ar y model gan ddefnyddio meddalwedd Ansys, yn enwedig er mwyn pennu'r grymoedd aerodynameg a hydrodynameg a gymhwyswyd ato.

Trafodwyd canlyniadau'r efelychiadau hyn a'u dadansoddiad a'u heffeithiau ar y dyluniad ym Mhennod 4. Manylir hefyd ar fodel terfynol yr awyren arnofio a'i nodweddion. Cynhaliwyd yr ymchwil hwn drwy gyhoeddiadau: llyfrau, dogfennau rhyngrwyd, erthyglau gwyddonol, taflenni data a chyrsiau a fynychwyd mewn modiwlau gwahanol ym Mhrifysgol Glyndŵr.
